Special Interests
In his work as a trainer and researcher Dr. Raimo Vuorinen has been focusing on the strategic design, implementation and evaluation of lifelong guidance services. Another key interest is Lifelong Guidance policy development. His PhD dissertation thesis 2006 focused on the professional use of Internet based resources in career guidance.
Areas of Work
Dr. Raimo Vuorinen is currently the Co-ordinator of the European Lifelong guidance Policy Network 2007-12 He has worked as a Senior Researcher at the University of Joensuu, Finland 1998-2000 and at the Finnish Institute for Educational Research, University of Jyväskylä, Finland 2000-11. He has been engaged in various national and international evaluations, development projects and in-service programmes in the area of vocational and educational guidance from comprehensive education to higher education in Finland. He has represented Finland in the International Symposia on Career Development and Public Policies as non-governmental representative 2003-2007.

Raimo Vuorinen is a Board Member of the International Association for Vocational and Educational Guidance, IAEVG 2007-11 and a Board member of the International Centre for Career Development and Public Policy 2005 onwards. He is a member of the Editorial Board of the European Training Foundation, ETF. He was a Member in the European Commission Expert Group on Lifelong Guidance 2002-2007
